WHAT TO DO IF YOU HAVE INFORMATION ABOUT A POTENTIAL INVESTIGATION

1.     When you make contact with someone/some place that looks like a potential investigation for the team, try to get a contact name and number. Don't try to get a location until you know if the person is legit and may be interested in an investigation.

2.     DO NOT volunteer to "go check it out" unless you are experienced and know what you are supposed to be checking out. If the party concerned is interested try to get an interview with them first. RECORD IT, RECORD IT, RECORD IT! But make sure you have their knowledge and permission to do so. Also ask if they would be willing to meet with the team heads.

3.     Try to get some information on the location. Things like age, background if any, others that may have experienced the same things at the location. You don't have to dig around in Census records. Just give us an idea. If you're not sure, hand it off to Mark. He's our Historian.

4.     If you have a likely candidate, contact Vickie, Janice,  Liam or Mark and advise one of us of the situation.

5.     If a person finds it, they go on the Investigation. If it's a large area, you will be given the right to decide which group of Investigators you want to work with. If you can't make it, you can designate a second.

6.     After the Investigation, the recap will be handed off to the one who found the Investigation Site. Your name will be posted like a by-line on the websites.

7.     DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT discuss anything about the investigation before hand with anyone outside the team. This constitutes a violation of the concerned party's right to privacy.

8.      DO be supportive, caring, encouraging and RESPECTFUL. We can't promise rainbows, but we will do what we can. We are going in to people's lives to explore something a lot of people do not believe in. Make no commitment beyond our investigation abilities.
